Black Friday deals for gamers are ramping ahead of the 2025 sale, but there are already early discounts ready for the taking. I've been covering this sale for over six years now, and if there's one thing you can rely on, it's that retailers like to drop discounts far ahead of the big day.

Now I'm at GamesRadar+ I have another tool in my arsenal; real hands-on experience. I personally specialize in gaming laptops, Nintendo Switch 2, PS5, mice, keyboards, and tablets, but I'm also pulling from the entire GamesRadar+ Hardware team's strengths to only highlight the very best gizmos on this page.

Save $40 - The DualSense Edge is a particularly stubborn gamepad, rarely dropping below its $199.99 MSRP. Amazon has a brand new record-low price on the pro controller this week, though, with one of the most impressive early Black Friday deals I've seen yet.

When is Black Friday this year?

Black Friday officially lands on November 28 this year, but we're well into the savings season now. Retailers like Best Buy, Walmart, Amazon, and more have all launched their early discounts which means there's already plenty to check out.

Should you wait for official Black Friday deals?

The short answer is; sometimes. If a product is at or near its lowest ever price it's generally worth jumping on early, especially if it's a relatively recent release or doesn't see discounts regularly. In these situations, I generally don't see too many additional savings come Black Friday itself.

Unless you're at that record-low, though, it's always worth waiting and seeing what the end of the month has in store. If something has already been cheaper before, it's likely it will drop again when the heat is really on.

When you should you start properly looking out for Black Friday deals?

I'm cautiously optimistic for handheld gaming PC deals this year

Hand holding Lenovo Legion Go S in white with woodgrain desk and Xbox controller in backdrop.

Earlier, I touched on the fact that the Asus ROG Ally hasn't dipped in price since its Xbox ROG Ally X sibling rolled into town. However, handheld gaming PC prices in general seem to be holding steady, which could suggest Best Buy and other retailers are waiting until the actual sale to kick off discounts.

This could be fantastic news if you've been waiting to grab powerhouse portables like the MSI Claw 8 AI+ for a reasonable price or even the cheaper Lenovo Legion Go S. I do think it's still worth taking a step back and assessing whether current-gen portables can provide you with the right performance for their price, even with a discount, but I'll be here to keep you well informed.

The Retroid Pocket 5 is cheaper at Amazon right now, but not in the color you'll probably want

I have good news and bad news.

The good news is that the Retroid Pocket is $40 off right now, thanks to a cheeky Amazon coupon. The bad news is that it's only the white version, and as someone who's currently testing the purple handheld that looks like a GameCube, that's a bummer.

I don't blame you if you'd rather spend more on the gorgeous purple model, but if my tests so far are anything to go by, this is one of the best retro console options for emulating systems like the PS2 and GameCube, regardless of colorway. I'll hopefully be sharing a full review real soon, but I can already give this portable my retro nerd seal of approval.

Will RTX 5090 deals be a thing this year?

Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090 graphics card with glowing edges and green logo in backdrop

The short answer is no, you won't find cheap RTX 5090 graphics cards this year.

The longer answer is that if you need an entire rig, you might be able to find a system with the flagship GPU inside for less. The price will naturally be way higher than other gaming PCs, simply thanks to the GPU stowed away within, but you're more likely to find money off a full system than just the graphics card.

Sadly, PC players aren't the only people interested in cards like the RTX 5090, as AI enthusiasts also want the graphics card for its abilities. If I'm being honest, it feels like the Nvidia GeForce RTX 5080 is the real frontrunner for gaming, as the 5090 is priced beyond what even the average enthusiast is willing to pay.

The good news is that while this makes finding the best gaming PC possible a little confusing, we'll be serving up Black Friday gaming PC deals actually worth looking at throughout the event.

Remember, 4K isn't always better when choosing a gaming monitor

Alienware AW2725Q gaming monitor with Cyberpunk 2077 gameplay on screen featuring car on road in night city and neon lights in backdrop.

(Image credit: Future / Phil Hayton)

I often hear friends, family, and acquaintances talk about 4K monitors as if they're automatically top-tier. This is probably symptomatic of the TV scene switching to largely UHD panels and all the marketing that emphasised the resolution being superior. That's not to say it isn't higher spec than 1080p or 1440p, but a higher res screen doesn't automatically mean better visuals and fidelity.

There's far more to choosing a gaming monitor than simply resolution. Yes, 4K models are often more expensive, but sometimes you're paying for the mere luxury of UHD resolutions when you could be investing in more vibrant OLED tech, better features, or even just something that's better value for your setup.

Even when it comes to 4K monitors, not all models are created equal. Some screens, like the Alienware AW2725Q, boast a much higher pixel density than other models, meaning you'll get perceptibly sharper visuals. Some displays also use size as a way to appear sharper, but if you're looking for something under 27 inches, I'd say you'll get just as much from a 1440p panel at normal distances.

TL;DR - Don't let the idea of a 4K screen lure you without checking other specs and options first.

Revisiting the Xbox 360 for its 20th anniversary? Keep an eye on this upscaling gadget

Samsung Odyssey G6 with mClassic and Xbox 360 connected running Alice: Madness Returns

(Image credit: Future / Phil Hayton)

If you're like me, you'll be looking to dive into some Xbox 360 games to celebrate the console's 20th anniversary on November 22. Yes, I'm disintegrating too at the thought, but while anyone who was old enough to work back in 2005 will feel a bit creaky, you can save Microsoft's system from feeling the same way by using an upscaler.

Specifically, I'm planning on hooking an Xbox 360 up to the Marseille mClassic, an HDMI gadget that upscales visuals to 1080p or 1440p while cleaning up edges using anti-aliasing algorithms. The results last time I played some of my favorite adventures, like Alice: Madness Returns and The Darkness, left a lasting impression, one that I think really saves the console's HD visuals from looking worse for wear.

I'd wait until the mClassic hits $79.99, and I suspect we might be treated to a Black Friday retro deal since it normally falls under $80 during the sales. That said, if it gets close enough to that figure, it might be worth grabbing one just in case general cost increases prevent the gizmo from hitting its previous record low.

I've been spending a lot of time under a blanket with this incredibly cheap portable moitor

KYY Portable Monitor next to Steam Deck OLED and controller on top of blanket.

Y'know, sometimes it's nice to retreat from life into a cosy gaming nest, and I keep finding myself under a blanket with the Steam Deck and this cheap portable gaming monitor. KYY's 15.6-inch screen likes to dip under $70 during sale events, and while it is sort of like the top of a 1080p laptop, its USB-C connectivity means you can hook handhelds straight up to it with ease.

It's far from the fanciest screen out there, but even still, KYY's portable monitor actually looks decent at 1080p, if you're using a handheld that sticks to that resolution. Its colors and brightness are serviceable, and it even has built-in speakers to save you from adding an audio solution. The adults in the room might want to use it as a secondary desktop screen for productivity, but I'll be damned if I use it for anything other than revisiting Xbox 360-era games and indie capers with Valve's portable.

As your neighbourhood retro expert, please tell me you'll avoid these cheap game sticks this Black Friday

Generic TV HDMI stick.

Upon searching "retro consoles" at retailers like Amazon, you'll likely be flooded with a bunch of cheap HDMI TV sticks that promise to serve up an absurd number of games. Many of them will even come with controllers that look like an uncanny Dualsense, but I'd recommend looking elsewhere for your classic caper fix.

Yes, their price tags are attractive, especially if you're looking for a quick and easy novelty gift. But, not only are you at risk of buying something loaded with unauthorised games, but you'll find that the gamepads are subpar quality and the device itself is really just a generic smart TV stick that can, at its very best, handle NES games. Plus, you'll often find that the "2,000" classics included are just either the same game repeated over and over, or hacked versions that feature one level per entry on the list.

If you do want something to play retro games on for under $40, there are plenty of much better options out there. I'd personally suggest checking out the Anbernic RG28XX since it's one of the best retro handhelds out there with an approachable price point and can even hook up to your TV via a mini HDMI port. You'll need your own collection of legitimately sourced ROMs, though, so keep that in mind when shopping for any cheap retro gaming device that relies on emulation.

One of my go-to OLED monitors just hit a new record low thanks to a sneaky coupon

KTC G27P6 with Tomb Raider Remastered Trilogy Lara Croft swimming in water

(Image credit: Future / Phil Hayton)

Sometimes I'll find myself doing a double-take at Amazon when scrolling for screen savings, and that's exactly what just happened upon seeing KTC's OLED monitor for under $450. This is one of those weird scenarios where, rather than actually slashing the price, there's a green box that says "you pay $449.99 with coupon," which is easy to miss when you're looking at the normal place for price tags.

Basically, if you go to the effort of checking a box, you'll get a 27-inch QHD 240Hz OLED screen at its lowest ever price, and I can confirm it's a fantastic display. It's actually rocking an LG panel, so you're actually getting a display that's almost identical to various other big brands out there. It even comes with a USB-C hub and 65W power delivery, meaning you can hook a gaming handheld like the Steam Deck OLED or even the ROG Xbox Ally X up with a single cable for charging and video output.

Rocking a 64GB or 256GB Steam Deck? I've got a discounted SSD update for you

I'm willing to bet many of you out there have got a launch Steam Deck that just keeps running out of space. That's because two of the original LCD models have 64GB and 256GB storage, but you can currently upgrade your handheld with a 500GB SSD for under $80 and sort your storage woes out for good.

The update process isn't too tricky, and it will ultimately save you just using microSD cards. With this SSD, you could maximize your storage in a way that'll save you from upgrading your handheld for the Steam Deck OLED or a rival with more space by default. It's worth noting that due to increased demand thanks to AI interests, components like this are getting more expensive, so it's worth grabbing offers where you can before pricing potentially gets even higher.

Can you trust unfamiliar monitor brands at Amazon over Black Friday?

27-inch KTC G27P6 OLED monitor on desk next to plant with Tomb Raider Trilogy gameplay on screen

(Image credit: Future / Phil Hayton)

As you dive into the murky waters of Amazon during Black Friday, you'll no doubt find gaming monitors by a bunch of brands you've never heard of. Sticking with household names is usually a good way to ensure a specific level of quality, but you'll no doubt feel a bit hesitant to try a random model that isn't by LG, Samsung, or any other established screen maker.

What I will say is that many of those unfamiliar brands out there are actually the people making monitors for the big names. Better still, options like the KTC G27P6 actually use the same LG OLED panel as some more expensive options, and that's a trend with the entire industry.

That said, I'd still check out our gaming monitor coverage for proper reviews and testing before settling on a specific model, regardless of brand name. That's really the best way to ensure you get a great display before you think about discounts, and it'll help you catch any annoying cons that could be a deal breaker.

This retro console makes for an imperfect way to start collecting Turbografx-16 and PC Engine games

Hyperkin Retron GX next to stacked PC Engine game cases and Hucards in front.

Hyperkin has been making affordable retro console remakes for a while, and the Retron GX aims to make playing physical Turbografx-16 and PC Engine games price approachable. Don't get me wrong, it's still pricey for an emulation box that might not run some carts, but it's worth considering with a discount.

The Retron GX is currently 16% cheaper at Amazon, and while it's a few dollars away from its previous record low, it's far more affordable than (the admittedly impressive) Analogue Duo. Plus, it'll hook you up with 720p output via HDMI and the option of USB controllers or original gamepads using the built-in ports. Simply put, you'll have everything you need to start casually collecting for an NES rival you might either have never heard of or missed back in the day.

That works out at $50 less than the graphics card giant's default asking price, but most models previously cost a chunk above that, thanks to the wild west of custom pricing. So, it's safe to say this is a bit of a novelty for me as someone who's been watching for price drops all year.

The model in question is an MSI Ventus GeForce RTX 5070, not the sleeker Founder's Edition. However, it does use a two-fan shroud instead of three, meaning it's not way chonkier like some versions out there. You'll also be getting all the same DLSS 4 AI upscaling bells and whistles that are going to give your PC a better chance at hitting 4K 60fps in even the latest releases.

I'm still thinking of putting this Burger Time mini arcade in my kitchen while it's under $200

Close up of Quarter Arcades Burger Time side art with hands using controls.

I love spending my adult money on not-so-adult things, and this Quarter Arcades Burger Time arcade machine absolutely qualifies. Yes, it's expensive for a machine with one game included, but it's actually like a piece of interactive décor rather than just a gaming gadget. Therefore, while it still sounds lofty even with a discount, taking it under $200, it's an incredibly detailed piece for your game room or anywhere else you'd like in your house (seriously, I'd pop it in my kitchen if I had space).

It might be an excellent nerdy decorative cabinet, but I should stress it's also a joy to play. I've spent a lot of time with the Bubble Bobble version, and its screen is surprisingly sharp, and its speakers sound fantastic. It's even got a built-in battery that's USB-C rechargeable, so you can follow your guests around insisting they have a shot.

Waiting for PlayStation Portal deals? Maybe hang fire for now!

Close up of PlayStation Portal on woodgrain surface with cloud library on screen.

This just in - the PlayStation Portal is set to get a rare discount this Black Friday. Word on the street is that the handheld will be included in Sony's upcoming sale alongside DualSense discounts and savings on the PSVR2.

Effectively, you'll want to wait for those deals to arrive to grab $20 off a Portal. You can get one for as little as $130 if you go for a refurbished model, but finding them in excellent condition isn't always easy. I'll chime back in with any good renewed deals if I find them, but for now, wait for the new-in-box stock to drop to $179.

Will Steam Deck Black Friday deals happen this year?

Steam Deck OLED with game library on screen sitting on woodgrain desk

(Image credit: Future / Phil Hayton)

Valve likes to surprise us with a Steam Deck discount from time to time, but it has yet to activate any early discounts. Its worth noting that while the retailer tends to line up its sales with other events, it doesn't tend to use the annual branding. That could mean offers on the LCD and OLED handhelds show up after November, so I wouldn't write off price cuts in December.

there's a good chance too that since Valve just announced that the Steam Machine is getting a second wind alongside a new VR headset, the storefront giant might hold off on deals so as not to distract players from the news. If it temps people in buying its portable PC now, that could influence whether they buy the new hardware options once pricing and a release date is revealed, but that's not to say offers won't happen.

If it's accessories and related gadgets you're after, we'll be gathering up Black Friday Steam Deck deals regardless, so make sure to join us over the sale season.

Yes, my favorite OLED monitor is expensive, but it's two screens in one for under $1,000

LG UltraGear 32GS95UE-B with Overwatch 2 character select on screen and Pharah selected

OLED monitors are pricey at the best of times, but I've just found a version of my personal favorite 32-inch LG panel for under $1,000. Still sounds like a lot? Well, rather than just getting a 4K 240Hz screen that pushes the limits of UHD visuals, this display doubles up as a competitive-grade 1080p 480Hz panel thanks to its dual resolution mode.

Virtually, you're getting two screens in one with LG's Dual Resolution display, which could save you from having a multi-monitor setup just to have access to high fidelity and top-end speeds. Plus, it's packed with plenty of other features too, including punchy built-in speakers and a USB hub, so it's pretty comprehensive.

The Razer Edge is back from the discontinued dead at Amazon thanks to a renewed deal

Razer Edge with PS5 main menu on screen using Remote Play

(Image credit: Future / Phil Hayton)

Is the Razer Edge a perfect handheld? Well, no, especially not at its original price. Is it absolutely worth grabbing if you want a versatile portable for playing PS2 games and virtually any other retro emulator out there? I'd absolutely say so, and you can once again grab it at Amazon for under $200 thanks to a wave of "renewed" stock.

Keep in mind this listing is for refurbished Razer Edge handhelds, but they are graded as "excellent" and come with Amazon's 90-day guarantee. The retailer's renewed program is great for grabbing a bargain on something that wouldn't otherwise be available, and at its current price, you'll struggle to find a better device for emulation with features like a USB-C mobile controller support and an AMOLED screen.

PSA: The LG OLED TV I use might not stick around for Black Friday

Hand holding remote in front of LG OLED C4 TV with Mario Kart World gameplay on screen.

I don't know about you, but I always pick up leave it a year before picking up pricey TVs like the LG OLED C4. That allowed me to grab a pretty nice discount on the 4K 144Hz display during the summer, and its now within touching distance of its lowest price even without a deal. That in itself is a problem, though, as I've noticed that stock is really trying up at Amazon and Best Buy.

If I'm being real with you, unless the newer C5 manages to drop to a similar level, I'd grab the OLED C4 before Black Friday. I'd specifically try and find the 55-inch model if you can since it strikes a balance between screen size and cost, all while offering up the same excellent vibrancy, speedy 144Hz visuals, and brightness that makes a tremendous difference when watching movies in HDR.

LG OLED C4 55-inch | $1,096.99 at Amazon

Got your setup next to a window? You'll want to check out this OLED monitor

Samsung Odyssey OLED G6 monitor with Spartan on screen.

Reflections can honestly completely disrupt your gaming visuals even when you're using a super swanky high-end screen. That's perhaps why I find myself still continuously recommending Samsung Odyssey OLED G6 monitors, as they use one of the best anti-glare coatings I've experienced with a desktop screen, and I'm saying that after testing one next to an aggressively bright window in my office.

There are a few different models now, and I'd say the better value one right now is the 240Hz panel that's under $530 ahead of Black Friday. That represents a record low across the range, and even though I tested the 360Hz version, you're getting a near-identical QD-OLED panel that's vibrant and crispy at 1440p.

Will Asus ROG Ally Black Friday deals actually happen this year? Maybe ask the Xbox Ally

Close up of Xbox Ally X handheld with game bar menu on screen.

With less than two weeks to go until Black Friday kicks off, I've noticed a severe lack of Asus ROG Ally discounts. The handheld gaming PC normally drops to around $500 in the lead-up and during the sale, but offers are a complete no-show this year.

The reason? I suspect the OG handheld is trying not to make the brand-new Xbox Ally look bad. While the flagship ROG Xbox Ally X is in an entirely different price category, the non-X model is actually a slightly weaker version of the original, thanks to its new Z2 chipset. It's got AI cores, yes, but in terms of raw performance, the existing Ryzen Z1 Extreme still has an edge. Therefore, unless you absolutely need the new controller ergonomics in your life, the Asus ROG Ally is better value when it's under $500.

Will that actually happen this year? I've got doubts, but I'll let you know the moment an actual Asus ROG Ally offer shows up.

Super Pocket Capcom edition surrounded by cartridges

(Image credit: Future / Phil Hayton)

These days, it can be tricky to find the Super Pocket for under $60, but it's currently sitting pretty at Amazon at its lowest price. The budget-friendly console comes with a bunch of publisher-based adventures built in, and the Capcom one comes with classics like Street Fighter 2 and Mega Man. However, since this is an Evercade device, it also has access to over 500 other releases, thanks to its physical cartridge support, so honestly, this is a small price to pay for a fully fledged platform that will fit in most pockets.

I just told my friend to bag this budget 1080p monitor now that its back under $150

KOORUI GN02 with Pharah from Overwatch 2 character select screen on display

(Image credit: Future / Phil Hayton)

One of my good friends has been asking me for weeks to recommend a cheap, but speedy gaming monitor, and I can now tell them to pick up the KOORUI GN02. It fits the bill since they simply need a 27-inch 1080p 240Hz panel to pair with their gaming laptop, and for under $150, this budget-friendly screen is pretty great value.

You'd think a screen like this would feel lacklustre in terms of colors and contrast, yet, its visuals are actually perfectly serviceable. During testing, I actually ended up spending a lot of time playing PS5 games on it at 1080p, which goes to show that you don't always need a fancy high-end display to enjoy some nice visuals and respectable speeds.

I'm hardly surprised the Analogue 3D is already sold out, but if you're still itching for a modern Nintendo 64 experience, you could start with its wonderful 8Bitdo N64 controller. It's got a cheeky $5 off right now ahead of Black Friday, and the wireless pad manages to strike a balance between feeling authentic and offering up modern perks like a hall-effect joystick and Switch 2 compatibility.

The latter means it's a solid option for Switch Online games, especially early 2D and 3D romps. It'll even happily sync up to Android devices and PCs thanks to its Bluetooth abilities, so this gamepad is worth watching for retro setup even if you're not grabbing the new 4K N64.

One of my favorite PS5 horror game experiences is under $15 right now

House of Ashes

I'm a bit of a horror game connoisseur, but the Dark Pictures Anthology hasn't really been my thing. No matter which one I played, I didn't feel like it quite caught the magic that was the developers' previous game, Until Dawn, that was, until I played House of Ashes.

Out of all the games in the anthology, House of Ashes has impressed me the most, with its great visuals, fantastic cast, and genuine scares, but I wish I had waited for this current deal before I picked it up. Right now, it's just $12.95 at Amazon, which is a no-brainer if you're a physical game fan and love everything to do with horror.

The official Samsung 256GB microSD Express card is currently on sale at Amazon like a ton of other Switch 2 accessories, but I recommend holding out a little longer before you make it yours.

Nintendo recently announced its Black Friday deal plans, and amongst those, the company revealed plans to drop $20 off the officially licensed card, which should take its price down to around $39.99, rather than its current $55.95 deal price. Of course, if you're desperate for some extra storage and money isn't an issue, I won't stop you from picking it up today, but just remember it will be cheaper come November 30 at physical Nintendo stores at select retailers.

When the Logitech G522 Lightspeed originally came my way, I assumed it was just a run-of-the-mill RGB pair of cups, and not a headset with one of the best microphones I've ever heard in my years of reviewing tech.

It's been a controller-heavy day so far, but if you're in the market for a set of buttons to run on PC you're in luck. The Razer Wolverine V3 Pro is down to $169.99 at Amazon, for a $30 discount overall. It's a little lighter than the savings I'm seeing on PS5 controllers, but the $199.99 MSRP on this gamepad hasn't budged as much as that of the Victrix featured earlier in the day.

Strangely, Dell has two different configurations of its entry level Alienware 16 Aurora gaming laptop on sale for the same price this week. Its early Black Friday deals have dropped the cheapest machine in its roster to $899.99 - but there's an RTX 5050 and an RTX 4050 version side by side on the shelves.

It goes without saying, especially considering the rest of the specs are exactly the same, you should be picking up the RTX 5050 version. This is already a lightweight machine, aiming to run lighter titles in 1080p - the extra headroom on offer from the RTX 50-Series' upscaling boost is going to play a much larger role in this rig than it would a more expensive option.

The rig, sporting the best display I've used on a gaming laptop yet, has dipped to $1,599.99 on Razer's own shelves - not bad for a set of new scissor switches and that glorious OLED panel.

Of course, with that slimline form factor and RTX 5060 GPU you're not going to be chasing the highest framerates with this thing. However, if you're going for style while working and playing lighter games at 1080p, it's well worth a look. For those investing in a more well-rounded system, you'll need to move further up the GPU scale.

Been holding off on Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D Remake?

The HD-2D remake of Dragon Quest 3 is down to a record-low price at Amazon this week, shaving a massive 42% off the $59.99 MSRP. That means we're down to just $34.99 on this classic reimagined - not bad considering I generally see it at or above $40.

Oscar called it "pixel-perfect" on release this time last year, but if you're new to the genre just note there isn't as much hand-holding here as there are in other JRPGs. Still, this is a heavy discount on one of my favorite franchises of all time - and it's well timed if you're just coming to the end of your Dragon Quest 1 & 2 run (and you want to play in release order that is).

Walmart and Amazon are trading blows over Borderlands 4 pricing

Just last week Walmart undercut Amazon's first ever discount on Borderlands 4, dropping the $54.99 sale price down to $49.99. Where the former has now upped its rate once again, though, Amazon has shaved a few more bucks off the final cost.

That means you can pick up one of the biggest releases of the year for $47.99, a new record-low price. Not bad considering this was at full $69.99 MSRP just a few weeks ago.

A Black Friday classic

Razer Basilisk V3

The Razer Basilisk V3 goes on sale every Black Friday, and it just so happens to be the best value gaming mouse I've tested so far. It originally launched at $69.99, but is generally found at between $40 and $50 day to day. That's why I look for this $34.99 sales price every year - you're getting plenty of functionality, a wide, comfortable base, and a slick RGB underglorw effect for a great price.

Or opt for the Victrix Pro BFG

The DualSense Edge is great for those first-party features, but if you're more interested in competitive speed we'd recommend the Victrix Pro BFG instead. This is a third party venture, which means you lose those haptic triggers, but gain a bunch of modular accessories and improve your back button game as well.

PDP's entry is also on sale this week, and it's also taking a dive to a new record-low price. $80 off the $199.99 MSRP takes us all the way down to $119.99 on this gamepad - that's $40 less than Sony's official model.

The DualSense Edge is cheaper than ever

This is a surprise, the DualSense Edge is almost discount-immune, only ever dropping $10 from its listing price over the last two years. That's all changed this week, with a record-low $159.99 sales price popping up at Amazon. That's the largest discount I've seen on Sony's own pro pad, for $40 off all in.

The DualSense Edge is the do-it-all model, with full software integration into the PS5 system and all the first party features of Sony's own controllers. That means you're paying a little more than you would for a Victrix Pro BFG, but making those first party releases all the more enjoyable.

Duncan has his hands wrapped around these controllers all the time, though, and recommends the Victrix for anyone playing more fast-paced, competitive titles. Its modular design and improved back buttons help keep it away from the Edge, but you do lose some of those more immersive features as well.

An early discount on Super Mario Galaxy

The Super Mario Galaxy bundle is seeing an unseasonably early discount on the Nintendo Switch this week, with Best Buy's Black Friday deals dropping it down by just over $8. It's a smaller saving but this is a fan favorite and you're getting plenty of game hours for your cash here to boot.

You don't need us to tell you Super Mario Galaxy is worth grabbing, but we did give it full marks in our review all the way back in 2007. The re-release combines the original with its also-five-star sequel for a full OG Switch cart.
